TWI is one of Europe's foremost independent not-for-profit research and technology organisations, employing 465 people with an annual turnover of €52.5 million. TWI works across all industry sectors with expertise in key aspects of materials and materials joining. The majority of TWI's activities (65%) are contract research, funded by industry and built around the development of advanced technologies. TWI has over 3500 worldwide industrial members across a range of industries that includes energy and transport sectors.
TWI has been involved in materials and joining technology research and development for over 50 years. This has resulted in TWI amassing a wealth of knowledge and experience relevant for the MEMLAB project. TWI has over 25-year experience in the development of bespoke sol-gel coatings for clients as well as in vacuum furnace processing.
Contact: Dr Nick Ludford (Principal project leader in the SMJ group at TWI) has a background in materials science with experience of materials sintering and joining processes. He will act as the project technical coordinator.
